This talk will focus on what a Geo team is doing within a daily super-app company -- Grab, and how we tackle ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival) problems for ride hailing and food delivery business under the hood. We will cover geospatial topics like how we do routing, time estimation and all other prerequisites computed in a large scale and real-time.
Dr. Guanfeng WANG ( グアン is easier for pronunciation), joined Grab R&D Singapore almost 5 years ago and now works as Senior Engineering Manager in Geo team. Prior to Grab, he did research on geospatial data processing/analysis and worked on video encoding/transmission as well. Guan has patents on map matching, and HTTP-based video streaming.
